We Add a Base Color
A base color is added to the concrete while the surface is still wet in order to mask that dull color of concrete with one that is more up your alley, even if you want a gray, we can make it look better and more polished. The base color also acts as a hardener for the surface with a blended  formula consisting of color pigment, cement, and sands. This mixture is then floated onto the top of the wet concrete, giving it a fully saturated, colored appearance as well as acting to protect the concrete from any surface damages. This color will outlast the appearance of anything in the surrounding area without any chips or peeling sections. Our CT Stamped Concrete team has many different options for base colors that can act as and reflect any building material that you can imagine and any color in order to make the area uniquely yours.

Accenting the Base
Although you have the concrete the base color you want, you need to add texture. Without texture, you have a flat, one dimensional surface that doesn’t do much for the area that you are trying to enhance. What we do is add a release to the concrete which will pigment areas, by using a complementary color and will prevent the stamp from sticking to the newly laid concrete. This is where you have the ability to go wild. A texture has the ability to make a statement, but won’t pull away too much attention from the area. Applying the color release in a random fashion will give the area a natural look, even if you decide to go with a more out of the ordinary color scheme. This is what our CT Stamped Concrete team loves to do, as it gives more of a creative freedom to an otherwise simple medium of concrete. If you desire a grout, this is where we will create it. There are two different ways in which this accent color is applied, one is a powdered formula in which water is repelled on the surface, allowing the concrete to create texture as it is applied. If you are looking for the effect of a grout accent, the method we recommend is the spray option. This formula is sprayed on the bottom of the stamp, so that when the stamp is lifted, the grout will be left behind. Our CT Stamped concrete contractor team can answer any questions you may have about which technique is best for your space and the general aesthetic that you are going for. As a top rated Connecticut concrete company, we take pride in educating our clients about our process.

Stamping the Pattern
This is the step you’ve been waiting for! It’s time for our team to begin stamping. The stamping process is very delicate and this is where our CT Stamped Concrete team shines. We use a polyurethane mold that has proven strong over many decades of hard work and creates amazing results. These molds work very similar to a cookie cutter and like cookie cutters, they come in plenty of shapes and sizes and we are sure to find one that you will fall in love with. As we are stamping, we will be certain to arrange the stamps in such a way that is cohesive and looks like each individual section was laid by hand. We’ll Fix Any Imperfections
Your CT Stamped Concrete professionals may create some imperfections, but before we finish up, we will make them look as if they never existed. The concrete is stamped while the surface is still wet, giving us the ability to roll out a seemingly rough section into something flawless. We will also ask for your opinion while it is still wet to see if there is anything that you want us to enhance before the surface dries.

Clean and Seal the Surface
We will schedule a return to your property in 2-3 days to clean the surface completely and cure the concrete. This will seal in the finished product.

Add the Finishing Touch Ups
For one last step, we will come back in about two weeks to apply a coat of sealant to your new space. Although your space is finished, we won’t leave you hanging! Your stamped concrete should get decades of undamaged use. If anything happens to your stamped concrete, let us know and we will be right over to assist you in a speedy repair. Repair work doesn't stop there, we can also perform foundation repair, CT is known for some bad lye stone in past pours, let us fix it.

After we finish, you will have a space that is uniquely yours and set apart from the other houses on the block. All of our CT Stamped Concrete team members work hard to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with the project that we created, because this is your inspiration and your dream, we want to make you proud.
